Imaging and Radiology

Reporting to the Director and according to established policies and procedures, performs all required diagnostic MRI scanning procedures within knowledge of all pertinent technical and academic areas to produce consistent high quality examinations.


Associate in Applied Science Degree in related field; one year as an MRI Technologist is highly desirable.

Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT). Must possess current CPR Certification. Must apply and take the ARRT Advanced MR Registry examination within eighteen (18) months of date of hire. Must successfully pass the ARRT Advanced MR Registry or ARMRIT American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists examination within thirty (30) months of hire date. Working knowledge applicable to MR scanning technology with specific references to cross-section anatomy, medical and surgical disease and scientific principles as applied to MR scanning. Ability to identify disease abnormalities and physiological processes while performing MR scans. Thorough knowledge of patient care standards and requirements. Remain current and consistently implement JCAHO standards of practice into all aspects of patient care and job specific activities. Knowledge of quality assurance, customer service and OSHA principles and practices. Ability to operate and adjust MR scanning and ancillary equipment. Communicate effectively with patients and their relatives, medical staff and co-workers. Read, interpret and follow internal quality standards and government regulations.
